RESOURCE CENTERS
The American Social Health Association (ASHA) created the Herpes Resource Center (HRC) in 1979 and the National HPV and Cervical Cancer Prevention Resource Center in 2000 to increase education, public awareness, and support to anyone concerned or affected by these infections.

The Resource Centers:
  • Provide accurate and up-to-date information, including books and newsletters;
  • Are sources for referrals such as local support groups;
  • Are voices to increase public awareness through the mass media;
  • Sponsor medical research on herpes; and,
  • Advocate for responsible national policies for STD treatment and prevention
The work of the Resource Centers is funded through individual gifts, subscriptions and product sales, with additional support in the form of corporate contributions. Today, people continue to depend on ASHA and the Resource Centers for educational information.
