What would you do if you couldn’t fail?

on Mar 29, 2010 | General | 0 comments

A friend of mine, Cindy, recently reminded me of an old but great quote that says, “What would you attempt to do if you knew you couldn’t fail?” In the past my answer would have been about different careers I would have pursued or instruments I would have learned to play, but I’m older now and my aspirations take me in different directions.

What would I attempt if I knew I couldn’t fail? Since joining ASHA my answer has changed to be that I would …find a way to make every adult sexually healthy.

What does that even mean? For me it means that we would have all the information we need to make good decisions — for ourselves and our partners. It means that we would look for, and know when we are in healthy relationships. It would mean that no matter how old we are, we would keep learning what we need to know.

April is STI Awareness Month, so consider getting tested, but definitely start talking. Many of us from ASHA will be adding to this new blog. Let us know what’s on your mind. Dennis, a friend of mine, said I sometimes sound too “prim.” OUCH…So call me on it if I do…I promise I’ll stop.
