ASHA Remembers the 298 Lives Lost on MH17

All of us at ASHA wish to express our deep sadness over the 298 lives lost on board the Malaysian Airways flight that was downed in Ukraine. A number of those on the flight were our colleagues en route to the International AIDS Conference taking place in Melbourne, Australia, and the blow dealt to the HIV/AIDS research community makes our sorrow all the more profound.

20 Years of Reproductive Justice

On Wednesday June 18th, 2014, NARAL-NC, in partnership with El Pueblo, Sister Song, and  Youth Empowered Solutions (YES!), hosted their first Reproductive Justice Summit in North Carolina. The event title: “Dig In, Plant Progress” is a testament to what took place there. Geared primarily towards youth advocates and activists between the ages of 18 and 22, #RJSummitNC’s goal was to emphasize the importance of approaching and practicing reproductive justice through multiple frameworks. Keynote speaker and executive director of SisterSong, Monica Simpson, opened up the event to amplify that point.
