ASHA President Lynn Barclay and Expert Panel Discuss Soaring STI Rates

RTP, NC--ASHA President and CEO Lynn Barclay appeared with a panel of experts in February 2009 to discuss increases in the rates of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). The panel was convened to commemorate the debut of www.getstdtested.com, a new website that serves as an online clinic through which visitors may arrange confidential STI testing. The event included the premier of the film "O Mission," a short production designed to educate young people about STIs and encourage appropriate testing.



The American Social Health Association (ASHA) is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1914 to improve the health of individuals, families, and communities, with a focus on educating about and preventing sexually transmitted infections. ASHA’s educational web sites include: www.ASHAstd.org, www.iwannaknow.org (our redesigned and updated teen site), and www.quierosaber.org (Spanish language teen site).
