If you live in Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC, Denver CO, or select counties in Illinois, you can have a free at-home chlamydia test!

Visit http://www.iwantthekit.org/ for more.

Chlamydia is a serious public health issue. Each year in the U.S. over 1 millions cases of the disease are reported, but the actual number of cases is thought to be at least twice that!

Chlamydia is often without symptoms and, especially for women, this can be a big problem. Left untreated, about 40% of cases in females will lead to Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID), where the infection spreads to the upper genital tract and can cause a host of reproductive health problems such as chronic pelvic pain, ectopic (tubal) pregnancies, scarring of the fallopian tubes, and possibly infertility. For this reason, it's recommended that all sexually active women 25 and under be tested annually for chlamdyia.

Don't be afraid to talk with your healthcare provider about chlamydia and other STDs. Get the facts! Take the test!

ASHA's webpages on chlamydia can be accessed at http://www.ashastd.org/learn/learn_chlamydia_facts.cfm
