We've received the following from the
http://www.besmartbewell.com website. They're looking for someone recently diagnosed with an STI who be willing to share their story for a feature on their site. Participants may remain anonymous.
They are ideally looking for the following stories
1. Person living with HIV
A straight person and possibly someone who’s a little older or who contracted HIV later in life. OR someone who learned he/she had AIDS through routine screening and was shocked to learn it, never thought he/she was at risk, etc.
2. Monogamous woman/couple living with STD
This re-enforces message that you can manage your STD and still live happy life. Maybe explain how STD fits into life as a couple.
3. Young, single person (20-30) with STD
This fills the category of people who are most at-risk for STDsâ€â€sexually active and multiple partners. Either young professional or possibly college-age.
OR
3. Teen/parent combo discussing teen who had STD and was treated.
Features responsible parent and teen who is sexually active and didn’t understand risks for STD, BUT did responsible thing by seeking treatment. This story could also offer advice about talking to teens.
If interested or you have any questions, please respond to
dmrazek@sbcglobal.net and mention you were referred by ASHA.
Thanks!
