Discharge associated with a yeast infection is usually thick, cottage-cheese like and whitish. Usually there is no odor. Discharge caused by trichomoniasis is typically green or yellowish, foamy and with a characteristic strong, unpleasant odor.
Trich symptoms usually develop in women within a 1-4 weeks after exposure, but many women do not have symptoms. Don't try and figure it out based on symptoms!
The only way to tell for certain is to be tested, so see your health care provider if you have any questions or if a discharge is new or changed in some way.
