Hello lav1118,
Welcome to our HPV message boards. "High risk" types of HPV are what cause cervical cancer, but numerous potential "co-factors" can increase the risk of developing this disease; some studies suggest women with low levels of folic acid (B vitamins) are more likely to develop cervical cancer. We're not aware of specific dosage recommendations beyond what FDA might recommend for a daily allowance, so ask your health care provider to explain their recommended dosage if you have questions.
http://www.cancer.org/docroot/ETO/conte ... tearea=ETO goes to a page on the American Cancer Society site that explores nutrition and cancer, and talks specifically about folic acid.
Also important in preventing cervical cancer is not smoking. Perhaps the main thing, though, is to have Pap tests at regular intervals, as this allows cervical cell changes to be detected, monitored and (if needed) treated well before cancer enters the picture.
I hope this helps. Post again if you have questions.
All the best,
Fredo
