There is no cure for the flu but it goes away eventually. Same with HPV. Cure is a word that means an EXTERNAL, medical method of eliminating the virus from your skin. There is no cure, in this sense, for any viral infection: HPV, colds, flu, etc. But for most viral infections, the human immune system does the job of eliminating the virus itself. That's why you don't still have the very first cold you caught, or any of the ones since (though luckily you do still have antibodies to those, so you can't catch the same strain again).

There are exceptions of course: HSV, HIV and hepatitis something. But most experts seem to think that HPV is not one of these exceptions, at least in the majority of people with normally functioning immune systems.
