From a male's point of view this is beyond frustrating.
Since abruptly being forced into this world of HPV I've read and learned alot more than I ever have about any virus that can infect a human being. What I'm noticing is that there seems to be a real lack of solid medical information and scientific thought applied towards this virus. I know that nothing is ever certain when it comes to dealing with viruses in general, however up until now I was blissfully unaware that there could even be a lifelong STD that they can't even test you for. This one small fact is exactly what is causing all of the stress and anxiety over this virus. Men and Women absolutely need to be able to be tested and aware of their sexual health at all times. How can the medical community rest knowing that there is an epidemic sized hole in testing for something that can literally affect a person for their entire life. I know that we're all saying that it will PROBABLY clear up and not be an issue. However, there are people like myself who go get tested for STD's after every sexual partner and before taking any new ones. These people are being told that they are "fine" and "clear" of any diseases. I think the ONLY reason this disease is so emotionally devastating is because as a male you usually only find out about it after infecting a loved one or someone close to you. I'm only one person and I know that alone I'll never be able to persuade anybody in a position to change this soon to do so. My hope is that more people will become aware of the need for HPV testing in men for ALL types of HPV and will see it as a benefit for both men and women.
