It is possible to transmit HPV even without visible symptoms. Removing warts may lower the risk of transmission, but doesn't eliminate it.
Most HPV infections do clear naturally and while it cannot be proven, many experts believe that the risk of transmission decreases in one who has gone several months, or a year or more, with no additional warts, and at that point might even be considered unlikely. Again, proving this definitively remains elusive.
