Hello again!

My results came out and I have SEVEN high-risk HPV types
31, 45, 52, 56, 59, 66, 68

+

2 low-risk
42, 62

= 9!!

Even my doc freaked out, I think but he tried not to show it.

Hi again DQ,

I wonder if you really had these nine types detected. I ask because HPV DNA tests approved for use clinically usually just say something to the effect of "positive for one or more of the following..." followed by a list of several HPV types. With these tests, it doesn't mean you actually have ALL the types listed, just at least one of them. There is also a new test approved for clinical use that can detect a specific type, but this only looks for HPV 16 and 18.

Of course, there are tests that can figure out exactly which types a person might have, but these are more often used in medical research studies. I don't know, but that's just an angle to consider if you talk more with your doctor.

Best,
Fredo

Thanks a lot Freddo! :)

Actually I had two tests one with screening PCR which show medium positivity and one with Clinical Arrays which says "positive for the types 31, 45, 52, 56, 59, 66, 68 and 42, 62.

Today I had a colposcopy, which was painful and I am stil in pain because although I was first told that it might not be necessary to take a biopsy sample he actually took 4. The results are coming out in 5 days. So al I can do again is wait, in pain.
