The risks of contracting HPV through performing oral sex aren't really understood, but the types of HPV normally found in the genital area are sometimes detected with oral lesions, although I don't think this is something that's seen too often. There is little specific guidance beyond common sense dictates: don't perform oral sex on a partner with genital HPV while any lesions (warts or even cervical cell changes) are present.
Similarly, there is no data to reflect the extent to which latex barriers (like condoms and dental dams) might offer protection, but this too is something to consider.
