Hi boonieboy,
Good to hear from you again.
1. I really want a biopsy for piece of mind. The thing is, it is expensive. If I pay for it out of pocket @ my health center, insurance may not cover it.
I can't schedule an appointment at an actual dermatologist unless I am referred to one... should I go to the health center and have them refer me so insurance will cover it?
Or, since I'm a male and this whole thing is really looked @ as a nuisance as opposed to life or death, they won't classify taking a biopsy as something that would be covered by insurance?
I don't know how all that works in terms of insurance coverage. If the only way to get your carrier to pay for it is through a referral, though, it seems like that makes sense to ask your primary care provider about it.
Whoever you see, they may not be too keen on biopsy unless the diagnosis seems really uncertain. Express your concerns and the degree of anxiety to them.
2. Is there an update re: the Brisbane trials with Ian Frazer?
Nary a thing I've heard. Keeping our eyes and ears open for this one...
Fredo
