I was diagnosed with genital warts yesterday and have questions that I can't find the answers. The doctor froze my warts. Can I have sex today? Can I still have unprotected sex with the guy who gave me this? If so...will he catch the warts? Can i transmit my warts through linens..toilets...dishes...etc?
Thanks for listening.

You might want to wait before you have sex. Those warts won't fall off right away. It'll be a few days before they do. Then, you'll be left with little sores where they were. Then, they will scab over. When it all heals things will look more normal.

Warts through linens, etc.? It's not thought that they get transmitted that way.

If your partner gave them to you, you probably won't give them back to him.

Hi calibo,

I echo much of what Ball01 said. You and your partner are probably not at great risk of causing reinfection or any additional episodes of warts if you continue to have sex. Sometimes health care providers still recommend not having sex while the warts are being treated, so see what yours says about that.

No worries about sheets, toilets, dishes, or anything like that.
