hello fredo-

i have a question about the virus related to GW and how it typically spreads or does not spread to areas of the genital region.

when the virus infects the genital areas does it typically remain in one areas of the first GW- and then infect other areas of the genitals?

guess my basic question is- does it select one area of the genitals and remain there or does it typically infect all that type of cells in the entire region?

after reading some of the posts on this message board- it seems like some people get only one areas (are treated and responds quickly) and others get it in multiple areas as the virus moves around?

thanks fredo

Hi Chica,

The virus doesn't move around on its own to infect new cells. Different sites within the genital area can be exposed to HPV through sexual contact, of course, and that's always the most likely explanation.

Hope this helps, but post anytime.

Fredo
