My nineteen year old daughter was diagnosed with HPV in June. This entire thing traumatized her as she has never been sexually active (really!) She had the colposcopy and then the cryo with directions for a follow up check in October. I went for my annual two weeks ago and I get a call today with the exact same news my daughter got. What are the odds? I mean, seriously???? I have only had one partner for 25 years and have gone to that same doctor for almost half of that time and have NEVER had an abnormal pap. Please tell me what are the odds?

I've chatted with mothers with HPV whose daughter's have had the same diagnosis, but I don't think any of them have happened so closely together!

So it's not unheard of for mom/daughter to both deal with HPV, but the timing in your situation does seem amazing.

I don't know what else to say, other than that the two of you can offer each other tremendous support, because each understands exactly what the other is dealing with. If there are any questions we can help either of you with, please let us know.

Thank you for responding. When I meet with the doctor (my daughter and I use the same one) I am going to ask her the same thing. Maybe there is something going on with the lab they are using.
