i had an abnormal pap....colposcopy.... doc said "its nothing to worry about". never had warts, or any symptoms. this was about 5 months ago. started messing around again.. kinda worried... can i possibly pass hpv through oral? or fingering?....not having sex.
what exactly does "nothing to worry about" mean?

Hi RPM,

Not exactly sure what your doctor meant, but perhaps "nothing to worry about" refers to the fact that HPV-related abnormal Paps are seldom dangerous, and most women are fine if they go for follow-up exams as directed.

I don't think hand to genital contact is much a risk for transmission. Oral sex probably involves some risk of transmission, although probably not as great as genital to genital contact. Barriers (such as condoms) aren't 100% protective with HPV, but probably do protect the skin they cover.
