Hi,

I have had GW's for about three months now. I have been prescribed Warticon cream which contains Podophyllotoxin for that time. The doctor told me it should take about 8 weeks to turn the warts from white, to grey, to black and then they will crumble off. Meant to use the cream 3 days on and then four days off.

Problem is that in the 3 days on the Warts (which are white and lesion like on me) seem to get bigger and then in the four days off they go down to virtually nothing. That has been happening for the past few weeks whilst I have been using the cream. Is that normal? Should I continue using the cream?

Hi Sonica,

You know, I've never heard of that so I don't know what to say. I wonder if the medicine is causing some inflammation in the warts, and perhaps that's what you're noticing? It's not uncommon for topical creams/gels prescribed for warts to cause some irritation.

You've probably already spoken with someone at your clinic about it but if not, please do so and let us know what they say.

Fredo
