I had the LEEP procedure done in 2000, I was told by my doctor that I was unable to carry a child afterwards, but 5 months later I was pregnant and had a beautiful baby boy. But now years later I tested 2 years in a row for abnormal cells, my doctors thought it was best to see what happens. Now this year I tested abnormally again but this time with the positive HPV. Should I worry once again.

Abnormal cervical cell changes associated with HPV don't often progress to cancer, especially with women who have regular Pap tests that can detect the changes so treatment can be done, if needed.

Sometimes mild/moderate abnormalities will clear on their own, so healthcare providers are comfortable in many cases with simply having a woman return for frequent follow up exams. If the cell changes persist they will remove them at some point, and the exact treatment option used would depend on factors such as the size, location, and number of lesions detected. Speak with your healthcare provider if you have questions about what's best for your case.

Hope this helps and post again if you have more questions.
Fredo
