If you have had hpv, treated and been clear for a couple years, then fall pregnant, is there any need to disclose the history to obstetricians etc? If you live in a small community, stigma abounding, I have serious privacy concerns about doing this. Even in the doctors room its possible to hear some of what gets said behind the door from the waiting room... not cool. What about in the hospital, if you don't want your family to find out does it have to go on your papers? This is causing uneccessary stress. Past halfway mark, no issues so far. Thought of having to have this discussion not nice. Despite what everyone says, not to feel bad about this, doesn't make you a bad person etc, can't help feeling like that anyway. |

There's probably little risk to the baby, but it's best to answer the medical history questions as directly and with as much detail as possible. You can also ask about your privacy concerns; just tell them up front about your worries before sharing information that makes you uncomfortable. You'll probably feel better about talking at that point. Hope all went well! Fredo |
