Can you contract a std through hand to gential contact? My daughter found out after visiting my boyfriend that he had a combination of Chlamydia and Gonorrhea but they didn't have oral or sexual intercourse. Is she in the clear. I hope this is as silly as It's sound because that would mean she was in the clear. Thank

I think you meant her bf, not yours? he he he

Neither clamydia or gonorrhea are transmitted thru mutual masturbation. Did he get treated? She also should ask him about getting tested for other std's too just to err on the side of caution before becoming intimate with him. Herpes, hiv and syphillis should also be tested for as well as considering hepatitis too. There's a full list on the main asha website as well as how to test for them ( there isn't a commercially available hpv test for males yet ).

It's a good thing that she has a mom she can talk to about all this :)
