I have a large blister in my pubic region in my groin. It is extremely painful to touch, and sensitive to water.

I have been covering it with gauze and using antibiotic cream, but so far nothing is happening. I made a Dr. appointment for a week from today.

Could this possibly be an badly infected ingrown hair, or worse? I noticed that it looks like soft tissue is growing over the hair there.

I am really scared. I have only had one partner in 2 years, and never had a problem like this before.

You need to go be seen for this- the sooner the better. A blister has a good chance of being due to herpes ( though certainly it can be caused by many other things ) so the sooner you can be seen, the more likely you'll get faster and more accurate answers as to if it's herpes or not.

Meanwhile I wouldn't continue to put topical antibiotic cream on it. Sometimes that can be very irritating in our genital area plus if it's not an infection - it won't help anyways.
