My husband and I are trying to conceive first child. I hadn't had a pap smear in years. I got one last week and found out yesterday I had trichomonas. My husband and I are faithful, so I'm assuming it's from a long time ago or something I picked up from a damp towel, shared bathing suit, etc. - what my obgyn suggested.
We were given a one-time does of Flagyl to take yesterday. Doctor said it'd be clear within 24 hours.
I'm ovulating tomorrow and am wondering how long we need to wait to have sex to ensure it's cleared up. If the doc said 24 hours it's clear, does that mean it's safe. A nurse told me 24 hours is fine. Another said to be "on the safe side" wait 72 hours. By 72 hours, I would have ovulated and missed my chance to get pregnant this cycle.

Should I call my losses or go ahead tomorrow (48 hours after taking pill).

Thanks,

Remember that you're both being treated at the same time.

If your doctor's nurse said 24 hours is okay, it's okay.

Go make a baby!! :D
