I was diagnosed in Feb 08 thru a pap as having High Risk HPV. She said the Pap was 'normal' but that i had HPV cells. She gave me a gel to put up there near my cervix for 5 days and said to come back in 6 months for a retest to see if it was still there. I just went Aug 26 and it is still there. But this time the pap was 'abnormal' with HPV. I am scheduled to have a Colposcopy on the 12th of Sept-this friday.
However, backing up a bit....i had a small 'skin tag' outside my vagina down near my anus and asked her if it was a skin tag or what? since i have others on my neck and underarm...she said that is all it is. So i now noticed a week ago, that i have about 4-6 more, closer to my anus now and i'm scared to death.
Can i have both High Risk(cervical cancer causing) and low risk (wart causeing) at the same time???

I will find out for sure on Fri but wanted to ask now too. I'm very nervous about the procedure and have been searching the internet for days to find out information on it.

Yes you can have more than 1 type of hpv infecting you at a time. Getting these rechecked when you are there this week is the best course of action.

Good luck with your colposcopy :)

You probably want to repost this in the hpv folder along with your follow up questions there. More traffic there and some terrific regular posters who will help you :)
