I have a couple questions.

I’m a straight 23 year old male. Recently I’ve developed hemorrhoids, which I think is stress-related and due to sitting all day at work. Lately the hemorrhoids have been worse than usual, with bleeding after bowel movements and significant drainage during the day. I use moistened pads and ointment to reduce the irritation.

With these issues, is there any significant HIV risk from sharing public showers, sharing shower soap and bathrooms (bathroom towels, etc.), or from usual public places? I try to wash my hands before using the bathroom, but it’s not always feasible; does this increase risk at all?

On a different note, with my previous 2 sexual partners (neither of which I suspect to be infected with HIV), I’ve taken off and replaced condoms during sexual intercourse, sometimes 2 or 3 times, but never was inside without a condom. Does this represent any greater risk? Due to these previous 2 exposures (fully protected sex except for the caveat described above), do you think I should get an HIV test?

Are these any realistic risks, or is all this paranoia unwarranted?

Parnoia :)

You get hiv thru exposure to blood and body fluids. You are getting neither from what you've described so you aren't at risk.

hemorrhoids suck :( Hope your get better soon!
