Hi I was diagnosed with HPV high risk in 2008. I have been through different treatments for the mild displasia. Since i was diagnosed i havent been able to have a normal life again for recurrent vaginal infections with a consuming itching like if its burning inside my vagina. My last pap in January 2011 was normal. Anyway my post is to see if anyone has experienced what i am. I get recurrent vaginal infections that gets cured and whenever i have sex (using protection at all times) it comes back again. I have tested my self few months ago and recently in April 2011 for HIV, Herpes, Clamidia, Hepatitis B & C, and ALL negative. I want to know if HPV causes this and how can i control it.
I suppose this is a yeast infection caused maybe by a candida but what can I do to be able to have a normal life, have safe sex and not get right away after intercourse this type of infection.
This is even more frustrating because due to this i decided to not have sex for a while but even if i masturbate then i get the infection few days later. I would like to think this will ever change and will heal.

I really need some hope, comments or anybody who can tell me something about this. What can I do to avoid getting this type of infection everytime i have sexual intercourse.
I will really appreciate it and thank you.

are you having yeast issues or bv? are you being seen when you have symptoms for testing?

have they tested you for allergies to latex?

have they tried topical estrogen cream to strengthen your vaginal skin?

no, this isn't related to your hpv. It's also not std related either.

Hi Betsy, Thanks for taking your time to read my post. Below my answers to your questions. Appreciate your help:

are you having yeast issues or bv? are you being seen when you have symptoms for testing?

I really dont think what it is because i always test negative for yeast, but I do always feel itching so bad in my vagina and anus! On my last test with symptoms (April 2011) the tests said i had streptococcus agalactiae, doctor prescribed me antibiotics. But my question is if this is related to that bacteria how come symptoms are always coming back? If im not having sex since months now. And Im saying that im carrying with these symptoms from about 3 years now! Doctors send me treatment and weeks after i go back to same situation!

**have they tested you for allergies to latex?

No they havent test my alergies to that. Is there a test for this? How is it done?

**have they tried topical estrogen cream to strengthen your vaginal skin?

No, my doctor havent suggested me this type of creams. Would that help?

**no, this isn't related to your hpv. It's also not std related either.
I really think the same but its so frustrating this seems to be even worst that same HPV itself! The itching is just so consuming! Not to mention the psychological damage im going through! I really need some guidance. Doctor doenst seem to find a solution eighter!

Thanks for reading my post and for your repply, i really appreciate it.

I recommend a dermatologist at this point. They might be more helpful if your regular gyn is not. You could have a dermatological issue causing the frequent itching that perhaps they'll be better with getting to the bottom of. I know I had good luck with a dermatologist when my gyn was stumped as to what medications to prescribe for me for itching issues. A vulvodynia specialist would be the other good choice but they are typically hard to find. You can call your insurance to see if they have a listing of any near you or look for a vulvodynia support group near you and see if they have a list of any providers near you. Even if you only have itching and not actually have vulvodynia, they are better at getting to the bottom of things like chronic genital itch and infection too.

unfortunately when you have itching for this long, it sometimes sets up a cycle of itching that is hard to break. Getting dermatology involved is helpful for that part as well as getting to the bottom of your annoying itch issue. They also can test you for a latex allergy either with blood testing and/or a skin test.

best of luck!
