Hello and thanks for using our message boards.
HSV-1 does not change to become HSV-2, but it is possible in some cases for someone who has oral HSV-1 (think "cold sores") to transmit HIV-1 itself to their genital area through fingers or hands. This is very rare, however, and would most likely occur during a very first outbreak (or "episode") when a fairly large quantitiy of virus is active and the antibody response is still developing.
If you have any symptoms around your anogenital area about which your're not sure, it's always best to be evaluated by your health care provider. Keep the relatively low risk of auto-inoculation with HSV in mind, though, and as a precaution simply wash your hands with regular soap and water the next time you have an outbreak and touch the affected area.
Hope this helps.
Best, Fredo
