I was just wondering if the wealth of knowledge on this message forum had heard of the herbal treatments offered from a website called www.quickclear.net

A friend of mine was just recently diagnosed, and is a Physical Therapist by trade, and her Dr. recommended it. She told me to look into it. I'm a little skeptical (naturally). I have a follow up appointment with my OB/GYN tomorrow morning, and I plan on asking her about it...thought I'd check here too.

Thanks in advance....

I'm not very familar with this product but when I checked out their website it looks like the "usual" herbal remedies that they have thrown together to try to sell. Don't hesitate to email them and ask them to share the research behind their product with you. Tell them you are looking for double blind scientific studies and not just "user" testimonials. Most of the herbs they've used in their products have only been shown to be effective in the test tube or are the usual ones recommended for their antiviral properties in general. Most of them don't pan out when used either topically or in humans with herpes. Most times they can't provide you with this sort of info but will send you a free sample. At least then you aren't wasting your hard earned money on their product if it doesn't work.

You get the most bang for your buck from oral antivirals. You can get suppressive therapy with acyclovir for at least $25 for 6 weeks thru drugplace.com if you can't get it cheaper on your insurance. Acyclovir has been shown to be effective at both reducing ob's and reducing viral shedding which none of the ingredients in any of their products on that website have been found to do.

Mroy2007, so have you tried the herbal stuff? If so how did it work? I too am skeptical of such remedies. Acyclovir definitely works.
