i am new here, but after a quick look, i have an impression that most of the messages are just complains, worries. And the replies were just encouragement, mentally support.
I have the problem too, it came back very often since i got it. so i understand the feeling, but i also know that complain or worry does not help anything, we already got it, and it will be with us the whole life, sadly.

so why donot we do something useful for us. for me, i am interested in the treatment. i prefer to see some new development of medicines, or info about some non-description medicine works or not. I think if we can control the outbreak, then the mental pressure will become much less. I saw some feedbacks about some medcines on other website, but i just simply do not trust them. if i saw some info here, i feel i have more confidence.

maybe there are already some messages about this here, but i did not find it easily. if there were some, i think they should be put on the top of all other messages.

this is just an advice.

Do you have hsv1 or hsv2 genitally? Have you tried antivirals? If so how did they work for you? How often are you having symptoms?

We don't talk about a lot of the non-prescription herpes treatments here because honestly most of them do not work and are a complete waste of time and money. ASHA only supports the prescription treatments and so do I. I mean there are definitely some non-prescription things you can use for symptom relief but the most bang from your buck for reducing ob's and reducing viral shedding is the prescription antivirals which is why we only talk about them here. Be very wary of a lot of the advertised products on the web - including the 2 you mentioned in your other post. They cost an awful lot of money and don't deliver what they promise. Look for products that are backed by scientific studies on humans - not just somethat that is effective against herpes in the test tube.

thanks for the reply.
i know i can be cheated if i buy some medicines from the internet. the reason i want to try is because i feel as bad as those who posted their thoughts here, i am just looking for something to improve my situation, even a little hope.

i have type 2 genital herpes. from the end of last month till know, i had 3 attacks, and i am still not recovered now. so you can imagine my feeling. i am eagerly to reduce the frequency and period of the attack.

finally i went to my doctor to ask for a daily basis, i am taking zelitrex 500 now. i hope it will get better. but i know it is only temporary solution, i cannot take the medicine for a year or my whole life.

Yes you can take daily suppressive therapy for more than year if you want to/need to. It's very safe and can be used long term.

Have you been back to the doctor to make sure it's all herpes going on? If you are female were you tested for yeast and bacterial infections too?

just when i had the problem for the first time, i went to hospital, they did check and the conclusion was herpes. and it was confirmed again recently when my home doctor visually checked it.
i am a male. and the attack was not becoming frequent only recently. since i got it, every month it came back. before, i only took the medicine when the problem showed up. it normally took me more than 10 days to fully recover, even when i was taking the medicine.
in the last month, it came back very often because i didnot sleep well first, then caught cold, then was tired. it seems my body condition is really bad.
so now i decide to take the daily suppressive therapy for 3 month.
but when i saw a lot of people said they still have quite frequent attach even after having herpes for more than 10 years, i feel a bit desperate.
so i really want to hear some new progress in this field. but it seems no breakthrough will happen, at least in the near future.

i am sorry if i wrote too much, maybe not useful at all for others. but i feel a bit released, because i was looking for somebody to talk all the time, but i simply could not find one in my real life. i think this is also the feeling of most of others.

So you've only had visual diagnosis of herpes so far? No testing done at all?

What are your symptoms like? Can you describe them?

How much valtrex are you taking for ob's and how long into symptoms are you starting it?

I know I ask a lot of questions.

oh, sorry i didnot tell it clearly.
the first time, i went to std specialist, they tested my blood and took sample from the lesion. so it was found to be herpes.
the visual check was last time when i went to my home doctor to ask for the suppressive therapy. he had a look at my problem, and confirmed it is herpes.
actually i had no doubt about this problem, i knew where i got it and when. so sad.

i took valacyclovir 500 when i had problem before. i started to take it when the problem showed up, 2 pills per day. but it still took more than 1 week to fully recover.

now i am taking valacyclovir 500 daily.

nice to talk to you, you are very kind. thanks.
