Hello,
I just had a quick question. I had a herpes blood test performed that came back negative. However, on the test results there is a note that reads "Note: Patient Not Fasting". However, I had not eaten for about 2-3 days prior to having the blood drawn. Will this throw off the test results and produce a false negative or is that just a note they put on the test results for all blood related tests? If it helps the lab company that did the test is RN LabCorp Raritan. If anyone knows the anserw to this I would appreciate it. Thank you!

You do not have to be fasting before the herpes blood test. It's probably just the way they are set up to report results of all tests. The herpes blood test is not effected by food intake or a lack thereof even.
