here is my question...
Can I transmit genital HSV-1 to someone else if they have direct skin contact with their hand to my genital area when there are no sores present??

It's not likely to happen. Hsv1 genitally doesn't shed very often. Also the skin on our hands is too thick for the virus to easily penetrate. Should your partner have open cuts or cracks in the skin they shouldn't be touching your genital area.

betsy
