I have recently been diagnosed with Herpes -2. Do I let all my doctors know about this new infection, cardiologist, urologist as well as primary doctor. Also, my 2 year old granddaughter is over our house every day. do I need to take any percussions with her.

Welcome to ASHA and our message boards! You have great questions and I'll try to answer them.

First, you cannot give genital HSV-2 to your granddaughter through any kind of casual contact. Not a towel or laundry or hugging her...
However, if you were dianosed with oral herpes, you could give it to her by kissing her on the mouth.

Also, it's up to you about who to notify of your diagnosis but you will probably get your best health care when your doctors are informed of all of your health conditions. A lot of people have oral herpes so it won't phase your dentist to hear you have it on your mouth. --If it's on your genital area, obviously, he doesn't need to know that.
