 Post subject: Contact with cold sore.

I kissed a girl last night and later realized she had a cold sore. is there anything i can do right now to help reduce my chances of getting oral herpies?

Hi viking,

Thanks for posting. Just because you kiss someone with a cold sore doesn't mean you'll contract herpes (assuming you don't have the virus already), but there's nothing that can be done after the fact re: herpes exposure. Keep in mind that the vast majority of people contract oral herpes, most often as kids, though they may not have much in the way of symptoms they notice.
