My husband just got his results in:

HSV-2 type specific IGG is: .90, so he is negative for type 2.

HSV-1 specific IGG is : 3.17, so he is positive for type 1

My results were negative for type 1 but positive for type 2 (IGG specific 2.09 for type 2)

What does this mean? How do I know if he has oral or genital type 1? Can my results be a false positive?
Can I give him HSV-2 if he has HSV-1?

Help...
