The man I'm currently dating gave me HSV1 from his cold sore, as we were having oral sex. I never knew this could occur until I was diagnosed! Since he has the same type of virus at his mouth, can he get it genitally? Also, can I spread it anywhere else on my body? Or, does it only stay at the original site, such as if I'm having an outbreak and don't fully wash my hands, then touch my eye or something? Lastly, I kissed him a thousand times, and never got a cold sore on my mouth, but it took one time having oral, that it spread to me down there...weird, but why?
Also, I am an organ donor. Will this stop me from being able to donate, or give blood?
