 Post subject: Types of Tests?

I know there are many tests used to diagnose hsv - can you tell me which type i got?

it was a swab, looked like a q tip. When it came back, more testing needed to be done to determine typing. - do you know the name of what test this was so i can learn morea bout it? thanx
