i have herpes 1 in the genital area, they say it is rare to pass during sex. Is this true. I developed it over a year ago and have had only one breakout.

hsv1 genitally only sheds about 3% of days which makes it around a dozen days out of the year total. The odds of having sex on one of those days is pretty low. If your partner already has hsv1 also then the risk of contracting it genitally is slim to none.
