I got my report back. The report came directly from the Pathology Clinic
Diagnosis: Skin, penis, shave biopsy: Changes suggestive of herpes virus effect.
Comment: HSV immunohsitochemical stain are being obtained and an addendum report will be issued.
Addendum Comment: HSV1 and HSV2 stains with appropriate controls were reviewed. The HSV1 stain is negative and the HSV2 stain is weakly positive. This would support an interpretation of Herpes simplex infection. The original diagnosis remains unchanged.
The Herpes Select test was also performed, that is where I assume they got positive for both types. Just still boggles me that within a month I got from negative for both and then positive for both at the same time, weird.
My Western Blot test stated: positive for antibody of past infection with both HSV-1 and HSV-2 by Western Blot. No scores given.
