I have a friend who gets HSV-1 oral cold sores very often. She also always touches her mouth (like everyone else on the planet!). Is it possible to get oral herpes from her if she touches some food and I eat some of it shortly afterward? I know this seems unlikely, but I wanted to double check. I don't want to make her feel bad by refusing to share with her and that sort of thing, but I also want to be careful. Also, how likely is it to get oral herpes from someone you live with, if they are always touching the same surfaces you are, especially in the kitchen. Thanks!
