Hi Betsy, I just had my first ghsv1 outbreak that started 2 weeks ago, since I didn't know what was happening, I went to the doctor after the blisters had appeared. She gave me a one week course of Valtrex....and my symptoms seemed to be getting better, however I am now experiencing an itching, burning and tingling sensation again. And I still have visible sores....

Does this mean my outbreak is coming back since I finished the medicine course 4 days ago? Or is this part of the healing process? Or did the medicine not have an effect since I took it too late?

Thank you sooo much :)

It's really helpful if you just keep adding new questions to your original post instead of making a new post each time. keeps it all in one area for me to quickly glance over. thank you for your future cooperation with this.

My advice is to call your provider and get an ob dose of valtrex to hold you over for the weekend. If you aren't feeling better by monday, return to be seen and get examined and also tested for yeast and bacterial vaginal infections too. Your provider should be able to phone in a prescription for you to your local pharmacy today if you can reach them before they close.

betsy
