hello, i recently was concerned i might have herpes. i decided to get tested, as im in a budding relationship. i ordered herpes tests 1 and 2 from a website, went to a local lab and had my blood drawn. ive got my results i dont even know if im reading them correctly, but it looks like negative:
Test Name
HSV 1 IGG, HERPESELECT
TYPE SPECIFIC AB
<0.90
index Interpretation
<0.90 Negative
0.90-1.10 Equivocal
>1.10 Positive
This assay is type specific and will differentiate
between HSV-1 and HSV-2 infections. A single positive
result only indicates previous immunologic exposure
and the level of antibody response may not be used
to determine active infection or disease stage. The
test should be repeated in 4-6 weeks when negative or
equivocal results are obtained in suspected early
herpes simplex disease.
The performance of this assay has not been established
for pediatric populations, for neonatal screening, or
for the testing of immunocompromised patients.
Test Name

i guess my question is, what does all this mean? i called their number and was told no one at that time could help me understand my results.

does this look right, does this look legit??
i was just trying to save some $$, i dont have insurance. now i dont know what i should believe.
