I know that cross infection is not very likely but I have to wonder.

Can HSV2 be crosss infected to ones hands? I have been getting dry patches on the back of my hands that will go away with time no matter how much lotion I put on them. Could HSV2 manifest as just dry patches on the back of hands? There is no itching or prodromes to speak of, it just shows up and after a few days disappears. I am taking suppressive therapy of 500mg Valtrex.

I'm sorry if I have posted a question previously asked.

herpes on the hands hurts quite a bit from what I've been told. What you have described doesn't sound herpes related at all. Probably just dry skin, eczema or something related. see a dermatologist for further evaluation.
