I know vaginal discharge is a symptom of herpes... but is it normal for it to have an odor?? It has had an unpleasant odor. Nothing strong or extreme, just different and not pleasant.

If you have unusual vaginal discharge - you should see a medical professional to have it evaluated. Especially if it hangs around after herpes lesions have healed.

Thanks Betsy~ The odor let up, but there is still a lot of discharge. I was thinking the herpes combined with pms... or maybe BV? If it doesn't let up soon I'll see the doc.

It's not unusual for bacteria and fungus to over grow with your first herpes ob if you just had yours recently. Don't self treat - see your doctor to get tested for yeast and bacteria.

I had that awful odor too. I mentioned it to my NP and she made sure it wasn't yeast or bacT. It went away gradually and eventually after lesions went away if it makes u feel better.
