My husband had an affair and now I have herpes. My blood test shows that it has been in my system for less than 12 months, so it could not have been hiding in my system for the last five years. I know this is a disgusting question, but if he was intimate with her, then came home and was intimate with me, could he transfer it from her to me without showing symptoms himself?

there aren't any blood tests that show how long you've had it. Not sure why you were told you've had it less than 12 months. I will gladly help you with your blood work if you call, get the results and post them here. All I need to see are the actual numeric results - e.g. hsv1 igg 6.9 and hsv2 igg 2.6 or whatever they are. That way I can be sure you were properly tested and see if you need any further testing done.

have you had any obvious ob's? has hubby?

what are your hubby's test results?

did you also both cover the other std's too?

betsy

I had an obvious outbreak with blisters, fever, swollen lymph nodes, positive culture by my on/gyn. Once the culture was positive, I had a blood test to give an idea of how long I had had the virus. I will call the drs office for a copy of the results. When the nurse called, she said according to the test, the virus had been in my system 6-12 months. I will get the numbers and let you know.
