I'm 33y/o male, and recently received std test results.
All were negative except for the HPV1, my reading was a 3.52.
As far as i recollect I've never shown symptoms (cold sores, genital warts...).
The last time i was tested was 8 years ago of which i was negative across the board.
I've been with my girlfriend now for 6 years.
We've had sex regularly, until now.

Knowing this, these are our questions:
1) Where, in the context of 0.0-0.9, does 3.52 lie? Does that signify severity?
2) Does me not showing symptoms determine the severity?
3) If positive for HPV1 and not HPV2, indicate my genitals will not be affected?
4) Most importantly, what are the chances of me transmitting HPV1 to my girlfriend (assuming i haven't already):
via kissing?
via oral sex?
via protected and unprotected sex?
via anything else i should be aware of?

Could you answer these questions for me? Thank you.

hsv is the abbreviation for herpes. hpv is human papillomavirus.

your hsv1 is positive. other than that, the numeric results are meaningless. Most adults have hsv1 orally whether they can recall ever having had cold sores or not.

at this point your partner needs tested to know her status. once you know what she has too, you can make educated decisions about what precautions to take together.

http://www.ashastd.org/herpes/herpes_le ... herpes.cfm has terrific info on oral herpes for more reading for you both too.
