If I didn't have herpes?
I know only myself and I can't lie, I would. The big H is everywhere and when you understand that it's a risk you take anytime you are intimate and knowing that it is transmitted skin- to skin, it's a part of life.
I was always taught never to judge people because you never know what they are going through and just becuase Herpes is in the relationship doesn't mean the person is awful. The H just came their way. Before I found out I had HSV-1, I dated guys who had HSV-2 and well they were just regular, smart, fun-loving guys. Still to this day, I still remain good friends with them. When you take the time out to gain knowledge about H , which I did, you just realize, its an annoying little martian that wants to set up camp in the AREA 51 and when that happens, get the MIB ( Valtrex, Famvir, Acyclovir, Dermoplast Blue, etc ) to keep it under control
