Female tested positive..took meds.. boyfriend was tested and his came back at first (full blown test-all STDS) came back negative but a few days later dr called and he was told he had a "touch" of chlamydia.. in the mean time unprotected sex (w each other) (only been 6 days since female azithromyocin meds).. boyfriend will be getting 1 pill med azithromyocin but does the female need to be rechecked in a few weeks as a possible reinfection due to the unprotected sex?.. soo confused.. don't want to ping pong the infection back and forth? thanks for any answers.

If you had sex after you were treated - but before your partner took his medicine - then yes, contact your health care provider to see if they want to test you again or give you more medication. You're very smart to be thinking about this, so good for you!

Hold off on sex until he's treated and you touch base with your clinic to see what they recommend, otherwise you do run the risk of reinfection. Keep in mind that women usually don't have symptoms of chlamydia, and in some cases men don't, either.

Best to you both,

Fredo
