Hi!

i read something regarding dosage in kids for acyclovir being weight related. I'm wondering if my dose, is too high - 400MG twice a day. I am in my mid-thirties, but I am barely 5 ft tall and weigh about 105. Should I alter my dosage to my weight?

nope, you are at the right dose. Once you hit 80 pounds, you are considered an adult :)

I think I know the answer to this one but just want to hear it from. So much better than just guessing.

I tried stopping cold turkey but each time I did I started to get an ob. So, I decided to ween off. So far so good, some random tingles, etc. I'm down to 200 mg and still have the tingles in my palms, fingers and head. I'm guessing the 200mg is still enough to cause the side effect of tingling fingers, burning arms and nerves in the palm of my hand, correct?

not unusual to get an ob when you stop antivirals.

if you are trying to see if acyclovir is causing these tingles, you need to stop it completely for a few weeks. If you still continue to have these symptoms, you know they are unrelated and can follow up more with a neurologist.

is 200 mg even doing anything? like, would 200 mg be enough to stop blisters from forming??

the minimum effective dose for suppressive therapy is 200mg 3x/day.

it's me again. so, now i seem to get ob's every week. i get tingling on my butt and thighs, then a sort of rash. and, get oral ob's pretty often.

also, my finger was tingling, then i washed my hair. about 3 days later my scalp started hurting and tingling. it's been tingling on and off ever since. it almost seems impossible as i would think the shampoo will kill the virus?

what i mess.

this is far more than a herpes issue going on.

follow up with a dermatologist.
