My gf has hsv2 genitally, and from time to time she gets these paper cut like tears,Maybe just one or two close to her vagina or near her anus. We've been together 7 mo, and she's never had classic OB symptoms. We do treat these tears like it is an OB and aren't active in that time, but from everything we've read no one has these 'paper cut' like tears as part of their OB symptoms. We were hoping for some clarification on this, maybe if someone out there has OBs like that or if a moderator has seen that type of OB. We appreciate any clarification we can get, just so we know

She needs to be seen every time she has these. they can test her for herpes and also for vaginal yeast infections as well as just take a look at them. It could be anything from herpes to tears in the skin from irritation or yeast thinning out the skin so that it tears more easily.

does she take daily suppressive therapy?

She is going to go to the doctor tomorrow and get those swabbed. She doesn't take the Dailey suppressant because since she was diagnosed with HSV2 she has had 1 OB. We are thinking this is her second but she is going to the docs to possibly get some medicine. Thanks for answering, we figured it was going to be a "go see a doctor" response but we just hadn't come across anybody with tears. I'll come back and let ya know what the results are just so others can have the info

Some people do have tears in the skin as symptoms but since they are also commonly associated with other issues, you have to investigate them thoroughly.

Hey. I just wanted to let you know that I get the paper cut like tears as well. I have not gotten them tested but I'm pretty positive that's what it is. Please let me know what the Dr. tells your girlfriend.

The sooner one can get to the clinic after noticing symptoms, the better, as tests done on the sores/cuts are more accurate when done before healing starts (and healing can begin in a matter of days).
